Vertigo Games, a studio known for its VR projects, has a surprise for flat-screen owners: the developers have announced a full-fledged remake of their zombie hit Arizona Sunshine, built from the ground up for PC and consoles.
The main change is the camera angle. While the series was previously strictly first-person and tailored for VR, the camera has now been moved behind the hero, allowing players to fully appreciate the spectacular and bloody zombie finishers. The controls have also been completely redesigned for gamepad and keyboard and mouse, eliminating the need for a headset.
The developers borrowed the plot from Arizona Sunshine 2. Players will once again take on the role of a darkly ironic survivor named Sunny, who travels through a sun-baked, undead-infested Arizona accompanied by his faithful dog, Buddy. This is a story not only about shooting hordes of zombies, but also about loneliness, survival, and the touching bond between a man and his four-legged companion.
Arizona Sunshine is scheduled for release in late 2026 on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
