Yesterday, Valve updated Steam Frame packs, which had remained unchanged for several months. Now, the company appears to have added a pre-order system for two SKUs to the Steam backend.
There are seven SKUs in total, two of which were updated on September 3 after months of silence. Each SKU represents a separate bundle or package for the Steam Machine. According to VR industry insider Brad Lynch, these updates may signal that Valve is preparing to make the Steam Frame available for pre-order or reservations soon.
Valve already employed a similar approach prior to the Steam Machine launch: backend package updates appeared six days before pre-orders began. Given this, the Steam Frame announcement could happen in the coming days.
While Valve hasn’t yet announced an official release date, the Steam Frame is currently expected to ship on September 14th. If this date is correct, the company will likely make an official announcement very soon.
