Discord has released a native app for Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S, now available in the Meta Horizon store. The release took place on June 30th, and as a welcome bonus, anyone who downloads the app and logs in before September 30th will receive a month of Discord Nitro for free.
Until now, Quest owners still used the platform—some installed the Android version via third-party methods, others opened the web version in the headset’s browser. But this experience was far from user-friendly, especially if you wanted the full-fledged communication experience you’d get on a PC or smartphone.
That’s all changed. Discord is officially available for download in the Horizon Store for all Quest 2 and higher models. The developers promise a full feature set: all servers, private messages, group chats—in short, a familiar interface without any cutbacks.
“This is the full-fledged Discord experience without compromise,” the company said in a statement. “And since the Meta Quest headset already has a built-in microphone, you can easily join and leave voice channels at any time, without the hassle of external devices.”
As a bonus for installing the app, Discord is giving new users a free month of Nitro. This unlocks advanced design settings, increased file transfer limits, HD streaming, and special bonuses within the platform. However, this offer is only valid for those who have never subscribed to Nitro before.
With the release of the Quest app, Discord now works natively on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, mobile devices, and Meta Quest. It’s an impressive list. The key here is that cross-platform voice chat between VR and regular players is truly simple for the first time: no third-party software or audio setup hassles.
