Rumor: Capcom Preparing ‘Resident Evil 9 Requiem VR’ & Gold Edition

Capcom has been actively experimenting with VR since Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Later, Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 received VR support. Now, insider A Given Soul claims a similar mode is being developed for the new installment.

The VR mode will reportedly be part of a larger DLC pack coming with the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem Gold Edition. According to the leak, the VR version will only be available in this edition, which, however, seems like a questionable decision on the part of the Japanese. It’s hard to believe they would anger 5 million customers with something that’s only available on PlayStation 5 and PC. Additionally, the Gold Edition is expected to include skins for Leon and, presumably, Chris Redfield, who is expected to join the game in story DLC. Do you think there’s any truth to this? Rumors suggest that Capcom may announce a “Gold Edition” for Resident Evil 9 in late 2026, which will include:

• All story expansions

• An exclusive VR mode for modern VR platforms

• Classic costume sets for Leon and Chris from previous games
