At Sony’s State of Play, a new Thief game was announced called Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow, which will be released for PSVR2 in 2025.
Judging by the trailer, Legacy of Shadow will take place in the updated city featured in Thief, the latest game in the series released in 2014. We will play as a thief nicknamed Magpie.
The trailer for the project showed gameplay in which the main character sneaks between buildings and eventually steals a mysterious artifact that will force her to become part of the “exposure of a sinister conspiracy” that threatens the game’s world.
Powered by the latest PlayStation VR2 technology, Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow delivers a fully immersive stealth experience. Crouch, hide, and move through the shadows, using every inch of the environment to remain undetected. Whether you’re sneaking through dark alleys or climbing to the rooftops of tall buildings, every move you make feels real. Extinguish light sources with water arrows, your hands, or even your breath to enhance the sense of darkness and hide in the shadows. VR mechanics allow you to hide and interact with the world in ways no other gaming medium can.
