Flat2VR Studios and Squanch Games have officially unveiled High On Life VR, a full-fledged adaptation of the 2022 comedy sci-fi action film for virtual reality headsets.

At the VR Games Showcase, the company showed the first trailer for the VR version. The game will be released on Meta Quest, SteamVR, and PlayStation VR2 in 2027.

In the trailer, the developers demonstrated how they’re adapting the game mechanics for VR controllers. And that’s where the fun begins. It turns out that in VR, you’ll be able to touch your guns with your bare hands—stroking them, poking them in the face, pinching them. Yes, it’s pretty much like petting an animal, only here it’s a living gun with a whole bunch of problems.

The developers haven’t yet specified whether the guns will comment on these pettings. But given the nature of the game, it’s safe to assume they’ll either be outraged or delighted. Or maybe something in between.

But this isn’t just about the guns. Squanch Games mentioned that they’re working on interactivity with the Knifey—an Australian knife that literally wants to stab everything. Apparently, you can iron it too. However, we advise you to be careful and keep your fingers away from the blade.

The original High on Life was released on PC and Xbox in 2022 and on PlayStation in 2023. This year, fans were treated to a sequel.
