Phasmophobia receives its second update, Quality of Life, on August 25, 2026. It fixes numerous issues that arose after the major character rework earlier this year. This isn’t a content patch in the traditional sense, but the changes will make every investigation more comfortable: smaller maps for the three largest locations, a journal that syncs data for the entire team, on-screen duplicate media indicators, and a completely redesigned character VR rig. Here’s everything you need to know before the update’s release.
The character’s VR rig is being completely replaced on all platforms. The redesigned system provides more responsive movement that more accurately follows your body movements, improved arm length accuracy on the character model, and improved visual clarity when playing with VR users. A number of recurring VR-specific bugs have also been fixed; a full list of fixes will be in the patch notes on release day.
The update will be released simultaneously on August 25, 2026, across all platforms. Kinetic Games hasn’t announced the exact time yet, so keep an eye on official channels.
