Yesterday, Unseen Reality’s crowdfunding campaign for the URXR One surpassed $500,000 within 24 hours of its launch, demonstrating clear demand for the company’s first thin and lightweight mixed reality headset.
The glasses’ main feature is their incredible lightness: they weigh just 93 grams. This is achieved through miniature pancake-lens optics and two 1.03-inch micro-OLED displays with a resolution of 2448 × 2064 per eye, a density of ~36 pixels per degree, a refresh rate of 90 Hz, and a diagonal field of view of 90° (horizontal – about 80°, vertical – 56°). All computing load associated with tracking and video processing is handled by the onboard processor, but the main graphics and battery are offloaded to an external device (PC or smartphone).
The device is primarily designed to display traditional content—flat games, movies, and even worksheets—via a wired connection to a PC or mobile device. Unlike AR glasses with a “birdbath,” it uses VR displays with passthrough cameras. This allows for the simultaneous display of multiple virtual screens in both mixed reality and full VR modes. Both 3DOF and 6DOF tracking are supported thanks to the built-in SLAM tracking system.

Notably, the campaign began with a limited number of early bird offers, priced from $700, which are now sold out. There remains a standard $800 support tier, which will reportedly increase to $900 after the campaign ends, as well as a slightly cheaper option—a two-unit bundle for $1,550 ($775 each). According to Unseen Reality, shipments are scheduled for fall 2026.
