Samsung and Google to launch mixed reality this year

Samsung and Google, along with Qualcomm, are collaborating on a mixed reality (XR) product. During the Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2024, Rick Osterloh from Google confirmed that the partnership would result in a mixed reality product launching later this year. Samsung’s TR Roh also mentioned the upcoming XR platform.

The device, codenamed Samsung Infinite, is rumored to be similar to Apple’s Vision Pro. Samsung aims to make it more affordable, with a target price of around $1,500. However, specific details about the device’s appearance and features remain undisclosed.

Google may reveal additional information during its Made by Google event in August, where they are expected to launch the Pixel 9 phone, Pixel Watch 3 smartwatch, and potentially a new foldable Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
