The game was one of the exclusive projects affected by the restructuring of Meta’s gaming division. Developed by Skydance, the project is now officially closed.

While the idea of an officially supported VR game appears to be off the table for now, some fans have noted that unofficial capabilities still exist. One user, comdudeskip, noted that PC players can already explore the wizarding world in VR using community-created tools.
