This week, the first-person shooter Into the Radius r2 for virtual reality (VR) exited Early Access on PC VR after a short beta test of version 1.0, during which changes were made based on player feedback. Now, with the full release, CM Immersive has unveiled its plans for future updates.

The final version of the game offers players ten main story missions and over 170 side missions, spread across three key locations and two sub-zones. The game’s arsenal includes 25 types of firearms (53 individual models), as well as a built-in hunger system with the ability to cook food.

For those seeking a more challenging experience, an “Iron Man” mode with permadeath, flexible difficulty settings, and an achievement system are available.

Significant changes were made to the narrative. Following player feedback, the developers reworked the storytelling through companion characters Laurie and Supervisor Eve. Their frequency of appearances and number of lines were reduced to maintain the atmosphere of isolation. Part of Laurie’s story is now conveyed through interactive white figures, and Eve’s briefings have been converted to voice messages on the player’s tablet.

There are currently no plans to add new locations or major content additions. Instead, the focus will be on expanding the game’s features, including expanding co-op from two to four players, adding mod support, localization into languages other than English, a shooting gallery, and perk-based artifacts.

Into The Radius 2 is available in full on Steam for $39.99. At the time of publication, a celebratory discount is in effect to celebrate the release of version 1.0. The Quest 3/3S version remains in Early Access.
