brainjo, a Regensburg-based digital health startup developing virtual reality-based solutions to complement traditional psychotherapy, has completed a €2 million seed funding round to advance clinical trials and obtain regulatory approval for its first VR system, DiGA, for children with ADHD.
The brainjo platform offers patients access to an immersive, personalized, and scalable form of therapy that complements existing treatment options and can be administered at home, eliminating office visits.
The company will use the funding to conduct a clinical trial and obtain regulatory approval for its first digital therapy program for children with ADHD. Marketing approval is planned for 2028.

According to Brainjo, their VR therapy for children with ADHD motivates them to apply psychotherapeutic methods to their everyday lives through playful experiences. For example, transferring real-life homework into VR allows them to practice solving everyday problems, an important element of multimodal, guided therapy. The visual style of the therapy is inspired by popular games like Fortnite and Minecraft.
