Running With Scissors has set a release window for Postal 2 Redux. The remake of the iconic first-person shooter will be released in spring 2027 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles with PlayStation VR2 support, as well as PC (Steam) and Quest virtual reality headsets. The game is planned to be ported to other platforms over time.

The original POSTAL 2 was released in 2003 and, over the past 20 years, has earned a cult status as a sandbox game, renowned for its complete freedom of player action and dark humor. The remake, built on the Unity 6 engine, preserves the original’s core concept: complete freedom to choose your playstyle, from peaceful to extremely aggressive.

Impact Reality CEO and co-founder Jasmine Uniza discussed the game’s philosophy:

At its core, POSTAL 2 Redux is a sandbox in the truest sense of the word: players shape each day, varying their gameplay from gentle to frantic, in a living, breathing world where no two experiences are the same.

She also noted that Champ, a fan-favorite dog, is returning to the game, now with new ways to interact: you can pet him, pick him up, and even use him as a weapon.

Development is being carried out on the Unity 6 engine, which allows us to preserve the lively interactive sandbox and unique creative style of the original.
