Italian studio Kunos Simulazioni has released a major update 0.8 for the racing simulator Assetto Corsa EVO, bringing the game closer to its full release. The main content addition is the addition of three officially licensed cars to the fleet.
The main new features in Assetto Corsa EVO patch 0.8 are three new cars and a new track. An equally important part of the update are bug fixes, particularly in multiplayer, where the developers have made a number of changes aimed at reducing freezes.
The developers have significantly improved performance, paying special attention to video memory allocation. The sudden appearance of trees in the cockpit view has also been eliminated, and crashes on Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 7600 graphics cards have been fixed.
The developers also significantly optimized the VR mode by implementing foveated rendering technology, which saves PC resources by reducing graphics quality at the edges of the screen. Graphics settings for VR headsets are now separate from those for monitors. Additionally, the patch improved the overall physics model, sound effects, MSAA anti-aliasing quality, and network code stability.
