Dataminers have discovered 3D models of the ibex and Roy devices. The code names hide the Steam Controller 2 and input devices for the upcoming ARM-based Deckard VR headset, which has been rumored for a long time.
According to Lynch, Valve is currently preparing for mass production of new controllers, although it is unclear when players will be able to evaluate them. It is assumed that Roy controllers will appear on the market together with the headset itself.
Valve itself mentioned its desire to create a successor to the Steam Controller a couple of years ago. The first version of 2015, which allowed customization of parts, was very popular with players, but the company quickly stopped producing it.
One of the differences in the second version was the square sticks, which can be seen on the render panel.
However, fans have already managed to render the first Blender files and showed what controllers for the Deckard VR headset might look like.
