Pimax Announces Updated Dream Air VR Headset Lineup and Budget SE Version

Pimax Unveils Updated Headset Lineup, Including New $899 Pimax Dream Air SE.

At Pimax Connect 2025, the company announced 14 new devices, expanding its lineup to six headset models for different user categories.

The updated Dream Air retains its title of the most compact 8K VR headset in the world. The device is equipped with Sony micro-OLED displays with a resolution of 3840×3552 per eye, new lenses and a Tobii eye tracking system. The headset weighs less than 150 grams and supports several tracking options – SLAM or Lighthouse.

The Dream Air SE uses simplified micro-OLED panels with a resolution of 2560×2560 per eye, but retains the basic features: hand and eye tracking, built-in audio, and controller support. The manufacturer offers two versions – SLAM for $1,199 with controllers and Lighthouse for $899 for base station owners.

The Pimax Dream Air SE is a VR headset that needs to be connected to a computer via DisplayPort. As such, it doesn’t have a powerful SoC and can’t render VR games locally, something other devices like the Meta Quest 3S offer.
