Meta is returning to developing its own smartwatch, which was previously discontinued in 2022. As reported by DigiTimes, the company has entered into a partnership with Chinese manufacturer Huaqin, one of the world’s largest enterprises that not only produces but also develops gadgets for other brands.
According to a source at DigiTimes, the new gadget will not be another “copy” of the Apple Watch or Galaxy Watch. Instead of focusing on fitness or notifications, Meta will focus on cameras, artificial intelligence, and environmental analysis. The watch is expected to receive at least one camera module and will have deep integration with Meta’s proprietary neural networks.
Based on new leaks, the updated device will take the same concept further – to expand the user’s capabilities in the Metaverse.
According to DigiTimes, there is a possibility that the corporation may present the new product at the Meta Connect conference, which will be held on September 17-18 in the United States.
