A Reddit user named BearableBastard is creating a VR port of the iconic Star Wars franchise game, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR).

According to the author, the project has made significant progress in recent months. The main challenges remain animations and the accurate reproduction of NPC movements without visual distortion. However, the published videos show that the combat system has already been adapted for VR.

The original KOTOR used a turn-based system controlled by commands. In the VR version, the lightsaber is controlled directly: the player can swing it manually and deflect blaster bolts. Force powers are also demonstrated. These are selected through a menu, after which the abilities are used in combat; for example, an enemy can be knocked back with a gesture.

Meanwhile, a remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was officially announced in 2021, but since then, there has been virtually no new information. According to insiders, development may continue within Saber Interactive, although there has been no public confirmation of this.
