Civilization VII VR Gameplay Revealed – Releases April 10

The developers of Sid Meier’s Civilization VII have shown off the full gameplay of the VR version of the game. The small playing field that flashed in the teaser turned out not to be the entire map — it’s just a “window” that allows you to follow what’s happening in the game world.

In the new version, you will also see the map from above, but in an immersive virtual environment or mixed reality with the ability to lean towards the surface of the digital Earth to examine the smallest details of characters and buildings, as if in a board game. The virtual environment is designed in the style of the chosen national leader.

In addition to the single-player game, there is an online multiplayer mode in which three players with Quest 3 and Quest 3S can compete for world leadership with each other.

To ensure that achievements do not disappear, the developers have built in a gallery called “Archives”, which stores dioramas and other evidence of passing game milestones.

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII will support Quest 3 and Quest 3S headsets. The strategy game will be released for virtual reality devices on April 10.
