Both Moss games were intriguing with their fairytale atmosphere and charming protagonist, but not everyone was willing to buy a VR headset just for them. Now, that’s no longer necessary. The game was officially released on July 16, 2026 and is now available on regular screens without the use of VR.
The trailer showcases picturesque locations, cinematic production values, and the series’ signature feature—the interaction between protagonist Quill and the player, who acts as a mysterious “Reader” and helps her overcome obstacles. The developers retained the atmosphere of a fairytale world while redesigning the visuals, cutscenes, and camera system for a comfortable experience without VR. Polyarc also promises improved graphics, updated presentation, and additional accessibility options, including the ability to skip combat sequences. All of this will allow Quill’s story to be experienced not only by fans of the original VR versions but also by new audiences.
The Moss series is considered one of the most highly acclaimed VR franchises of recent years, so the release of The Forgotten Relic can be seen as an attempt to open it up to a much wider audience.
