In an exciting new development for players, the latest installment of the iconic Metro franchise has been unveiled. Titled Metro Awakening, this release is specially prepared for the PS VR2 platform, allowing players to immerse themselves deeply in its post-apocalyptic world. The expected release date is scheduled for **November 7th, 2024**, promising a new experience for series veterans and newcomers alike.
Metro Awakening will be the first game adaptation of the Metro book universe that is not made by 4A Games. The project is being developed by Vertigo Games, a studio specializing in VR games. Its track record includes Arizona Sunshine, an action shooter in a zombie apocalypse, as well as a bunch of casual puzzle games in virtual reality. It is known that the game will be a prequel to Metro 2033. The main character will be doctor Serdar, who went on an expedition through the Moscow metro to find his wife, who disappeared in the tunnels. From the trailer, it becomes clear that Serdar will encounter a group of religious fanatics, as well as mutants, already classic for the series, who live in the capital’s subway.
On Steam, PlayStation Store, and Meta Quest Store, the regular edition costs $40.
The Deluxe Edition will set you back $45. But after release, it will cost $50. However, to get it at a discount on PlayStation, you need an active PS Plus subscription.
