Meta Shows Off The First Real AR Glasses Orion

Meta has unveiled a prototype of Orion augmented reality smart glasses that look less bulky than most other AR headsets. The new product offers holographic information display on the glasses and also has AI-powered features. A consumer version is planned for release soon.

The glasses can work both indoors and outdoors. They are supposed to overlay “hologram screens” on objects around the user. Inside is the Meta AI neural network. Thanks to it, you can, for example, look into the refrigerator and ask it to come up with something to cook from the available products.

The device is controlled by eye movements, as well as finger movements, which are tracked by the bracelet.

The glasses come with a “neural” bracelet to control them and a wireless device that powers them. According to Heath, if you move too far away from it, the glasses “become useless.” There is no need to connect the device to a computer or laptop.
