MyDearest has announced that Exit 8 VR will soon be making its PC VR debut on Steam.
Developed by KOTAKE CREATE, the game first hit Steam as a tabletop edition in 2023 and quickly went viral thanks to being picked up by major streamers around the world. With such success, perhaps a VR port of the game was inevitable, and the game reached the Quest platform earlier this year. Now it’s time for PC players.
Exit 8 VR is inspired by the Japanese subway system and the confined spaces that come with wandering its seemingly endless underground changes. In our recent impressions of Quest, we noted that this port expands on the original experience by taking advantage of VR’s immersion, and taking the time to notice everything unusual about those repetitive corridors until we reach the end. We’re hoping the VR port will take the game to new levels of tranquility. The Quest version has new anomalies that weren’t present in the flatscreen version, and those changes have also made their way into the SteamVR version. This edition will be under a new name, rather than an update to the original trapdoor game, and will cost $6.99.
There is currently no release date for Exit 8 VR, though the Steam page is up and it’s now available on Quest.
