The popular social VR platform Rec Room has announced an unexpected collaboration with Bungie. You can now experience Destiny 2: Guardian Gauntlet in Rec Room.
The centerpiece of this collaboration is a detailed replica of the Tower from Destiny 2, which now serves as a social hub in Rec Room. You can find the Tower in Rec Room’s virtual reality, as well as on desktop, console, and mobile devices.
You can also take on the role of a Guardian and face challenging training courses and familiar enemies from the Destiny universe.
To complete the Guardian look, there are exclusive Rec Room cosmetics based on the Hunter, Titan, and Warlock classes. The Hunter set and weapon skins are already available, with the Warlock and Titan sets coming in the next few weeks.
Rec Room has evolved significantly since its launch as a VR-only platform in 2016 and is now available on various systems such as PlayStation, iOS, and Xbox, allowing users to create and share their own content.
With the introduction of Rec Room Studio, advanced developers can now create more complex 3D worlds using professional Unity tools.
