Starbreeze Entertainment has announced a new game in the Payday franchise. The developers invite you to check out Payday: Aces High, a virtual reality spin-off developed by Fast Travel Games, the team that published The Midnight Walk.
The story involves gamers seeking revenge on a businessman for setting him up. A vast arsenal of weapons, gadgets, and skills will help them restore justice (though not in the most honest way). The robbers will have to infiltrate various locations and thoroughly explore them to prepare for the heist.
Fast Travel Games co-founder and creative director Erik Odeldahl noted that Payday: Aces High is a major step forward for the entire series. Key features of the project will be four classes with unique abilities, as well as the ability to play in co-op.
The first game in the Payday: The Heist franchise was released in 2011. A couple of years later, Payday 2 was released, becoming one of the best-selling games of all time and still receiving updates.
Payday: Aces High is scheduled for release in the third quarter of this year (July to September) for SteamVR and Quest.
