After a series of teasers, HTC has officially unveiled a virtual reality headset called Vive Focus Vision. The headset can be used both separately and in conjunction with a PC.
The HTC Vive Focus Vision is based on the HTC Vive Focus 3 headset, which is aimed at corporate users. The new device will be offered to both professionals and consumers. The headset runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 chip and can be used in standalone mode or in conjunction with a PC, to which it can be connected via USB Type-C or DisplayPort. Each eye has a display with a resolution of 2448 × 2448 pixels and a field of view of 120°. When working in standalone mode, the maximum display frequency is 90 Hz, and by the end of the year, support for 120 Hz will appear when connected via DisplayPort.

Eye tracking is a key feature of the HTC Vive Focus Vision, recording your gaze 120 times per second with an accuracy of 0.5° to 1° within a 20-degree range of the central field of view. This allows processing power to be directed towards rendering the image the user is actually looking at, improving performance.

The HTC Vive Focus Vision VR headset will go on sale on October 17, 2024, priced at $999 — pre-orders are already open. The company promises full compatibility with accessories for the Vive Focus 3.
