VitruviusVR, the studio behind 2019’s Shadow Legend VR, has finally announced the release of its upcoming single-player sci-fi shooter Arken Age. Arken Age will be released on SteamVR and PSVR 2 on January 16, 2025, and promises a 10-15 hour story campaign set in the lush tropical environments of a terraformed world.
The upcoming game promises to have 25 different zones to explore over a 10-hour campaign, where the player takes on the role of a biological alien weapon. Arken Age uses physics-based combat with swords and pistols infused with Arkenite to destroy the Hyperion threat, all integrated into the player’s alien body, including elements such as pickaxes, melee weapons, and a quick-access inventory.
Secret loot, collected scrap, and more can then be used to craft Hyperion alloy, allowing you to purchase items such as shields, grenades, or ammo. Weapon blueprints are also available to craft more powerful weaponry, which will likely come in handy when facing various bosses. A reinforcement console allows you to deploy Hyperion squads as needed throughout Bio-Hazm, allowing for additional training.
Check out the new gameplay in the new trailer, which shows off most of the game’s weapons, the mod system, and surprisingly fragile enemies that can be dismembered and destroyed in some pretty interesting ways.
