Apple has drastically cut production of the Vision Pro. The news comes days after CEO Tim Cook admitted in an interview that the $3,500 mixed reality headset is aimed at early adopters and is “not a mass-market product.”
Apple has already notified Luxshare that it will cease production in November. However, sales of the helmets will continue, as the company has sufficient stock to meet demand. It is noted that the assembly lines will remain in place, which will allow production to resume in the future if demand increases. Meanwhile, the production cuts began in early summer. Currently, the Luxshare factory produces about 1,000 helmets per day, which is half of the peak volume.
It was previously reported that Apple could release a smart ring by 2026, competing with Samsung. If the forecast comes true, it would be the company’s first new product since the release of the Apple Vision Pro headset this year.
