Apple has entered into a new agreement with Sony to bring support for PlayStation VR2 controllers to the Vision Pro.
Apple is interested in integrating PlayStation VR2 controllers. According to Gurman, the two companies have already made significant progress: “Apple approached Sony earlier this year, and the two companies agreed to work together to support PlayStation VR2 controllers on the Vision Pro. Work on this project has been ongoing internally at Sony for several months.” Apple is also discussing this plan with game developers, asking them to integrate controller support into their projects.
The Vision Pro currently supports standard Xbox and PlayStation game controllers for Apple Arcade games, but it doesn’t support VR controllers yet, which limits the experience for most VR games.
The Apple Vision Pro virtual reality glasses were first released in February 2024. They cost $3.5 thousand. Thanks to the headset, users can watch a variety of content without being distracted from other things.
